Taking a lead from St John Paul II, and inspired by St Oscar Romero, I offer here for prayerful consideration and devotion, alongside the four sets of mysteries of joy, light, sorrow, and glory, three new sets of mysteries:

the mysteries of charity,

the mysteries of compassion and mercy,

and the mysteries of justice and peace.

We might call them the ‘Romero mysteries’ – being mysteries of loving service and solidarity, themes which stand at the core of our discipleship and all our relationships.
