When we pray the prayer of ‘Our Father’, not only are we united with all Christians, and indeed with all our brothers and sisters in the human family, but also with the whole universe which has its origin in God. The wholeness to which all life is drawn makes the use of ‘our’ much more meaningful because in using this simple word, we acknowledge the belief that we are an integral part of a larger earth community.
